Williams maintained his Northeast Conference lead while adding a New York Metropolitan Championship to his resume last week. The Canadian-born sprinter struck gold in the 500m dash at the annual Mets, which were hosted by Fordham University at the NYC Armory. Williams crossed the line in 1:03.81, a time that stands well under the qualifying standard for the IC4A Championship in March. In his first season in Hackensack, the sophomore sprinter owns the NEC’s fastest 500m time and stands 0.03 second off the league lead in the 400m dash. He has earned automatic IC4A Championship berths in both events.
