Saunders produced a seasonal best in the high jump and retained her NEC lead in the event as a result. Clearing 1.75m (5’ 8.75”), the Nutmeg State product was the second-best collegiate finisher at the BU Terrier Invitational. The height is five centimeters better than the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships and gives her a two-centimeter lead of LIU Brooklyn’s Kyaira Wright-Harmon on the NEC performance list. Saunders is one of 58 NCAA Division I high jumpers to clear 1.75m this season.
