Walker-Khan is the second LIU Brooklyn triple jumper in the past two weeks to sink his talons into the NEC Field Athlete of the Week award. After Amir Armstrong - last week’s honoree - became the first NEC triple jumper to qualify for the IC4A Championships at the Metro Team Challenge, Walker-Khan followed suit at the NYC Armory Track Invitational. The British-born Walker-Khan leapt 14.83m (48’ 8”) to pull into second place on the league leader board, eight centimeters behind Armstrong. Although it was not near his seasonal best, Walker-Khan also produced an IC4A Championship-qualifying mark in the long jump at the NYC Armory.
