Hines became the first NEC weight thrower to hit the 18.00m mark this season. Contesting the Metro Team Challenge, the FDU sophomore extended her NEC lead in the 20lb weight throw. She easily won gold at the 20-team meet held at the NYC Armory. Hines’ top throw was more than 1.00 meter better than that of the event’s second-place finisher, MAAC leader Lydia Wehrli. Hines’ seasonal best stands exactly 2.0 meters better than the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships.
