Thompson took the NEC Rookie of the Week award for the second consecutive occasion. This time, she earned the honor for her performance in the 400m dash. Sprinting that distance for the first time as a collegian, the rookie crossed the line in 58.56 at the NYC Gotham Cup and took over the Northeast Conference lead in the process. Thompson, who has already qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 500m dash, was less than 1.5 seconds away from reaching the ECAC standard in the 400m.
