The defending NEC 500m champion is working her way back up the conference leader board. Contesting the race for the first time this year, Pereira clocked in at 1:16.50 at the NYC Gotham Cup. The time was the fastest by any NEC competitor at the event and was ninth-best amongst collegiate finishers. Although she finished a fraction of a second short of the ECAC Championship qualifying standard, Pereira currently sits 33rd on the ECAC performance list.
