Thompson made herself the early-season favorite to capture the 500m title when the NEC Indoor Championships commence in late February. In her first collegiate competition in more than one month, the British-born sprinter completed the 500m dash in 1:16.50. When converted for track size, the time shrinks to 1:15.54 and easily qualifies Thompson for the ECAC Championships in March. It is also 0.11 second better than the winning time from the 2014 NEC Indoor Championships.
