Vizenfeld recaptured the NEC Bowler of the Week award that she earned on six different occasions last season. Her first honor of the 2014-15 campaign came on the heels of her sensational performance at the second of three NEC-sponsored meets on the regular season schedule. Powering the Knights to a perfect 7-0 record for the weekend, Vizenfeld led all NEC competitors by posting a 21.76 frame average. Accounting for a .929 filled frames percentage, the Israeli-born bowler left only five opens in the 70 frames she completed during the two-day meet. Vizenfeld cashed in on 55.6 percent of her strike attempts over the course of seven baker matches and three of her conference-high 65 strikes came at a crucial juncture in Fairleigh Dickinson’s victory over defending NEC champion Saint Francis U. With its back against the wall heading into the ninth frame, FDU needed three consecutive strikes and a good count on the fill ball to eke out a win. Melanie Hannon did her part, striking in the ninth to set up Vizenfeld. The Knights’ anchor bowler came through in the clutch, closing out the match with a turkey and sending FDU to a 974-970 win.
