Fitzgerald’s first-ever collegiate competition yielded the NEC’s second-best pole vault mark of the young season. The first-year Mountaineer cleared 3.30m to claim the bronze medal at the Navy Lid-lifter. That season-opening height would have placed Fitzgerald fourth at the 2014 NEC Indoor Championships. Only defending NEC Indoor champion - Robert Morris’ Bethany Ledford - has vaulted higher than Fitzgerald this season.
