Ray already has a NEC discus title to her name, and, now, the RMU senior is the early-season favorite to add a shot put crown to her resume. Opening her indoor season, Ray obliterated the shot put competition at the Navy Lid-Lifter and took over the NEC lead in the event. Becoming only the fourth thrower in program history to put the shot more than 45 feet, Ray won gold medal with a 13.73m toss. Her winning throw was more than 0.75m better than that of the next-best finisher and it also stands as a 24-centimeter improvement over the fourth-place mark she posted at the 2014 NEC Indoor Championships.
