WEEK 3: 22.0 ppg, 6.0 apg, 5.0 rpg, .700 FG pct. (14-of-20)
The Bulldogs are off to their best season start as a Division I program and Bailey is a big reason why. Helping Bryant bump its overall record up to 5-1 with two wins last week, the senior point guard averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds per contest. Bailey’s career-best performance carried the Bulldogs to a 90-80 victory over Big East member Providence. Avenging last year’s 104-67 loss to the Friars, Bailey poured in a career-high 35 points, on 11-of-14 shooting from the field, and dished out eight assists. She also grabbed five rebounds and made a pair of steals in the Bryant’s first-ever win over its fellow Ocean State inhabitant. Earlier in the week, Bailey helped the Bulldogs take down one of Rhode Island’s other Division I programs. Shooting 50 percent from the field, Bailey tallied nine points, five rebounds and four assists in the 67-60 triumph over Ivy League member Brown. In the two wins against Ocean State rivals, Bailey shot 70 percent (14-for-20) from the floor and made 16 of 22 attempts from the charity stripe.
