Gotterbarn’s Northeast Conference debut was as good as any in the history of the league. The 5-foot-8 freshman posted a 213.4 traditional game average over seven NEC matches. That mark was good for second place on the overall individual leader board and nearly 16 pins better than the meet’s second-ranked rookie. Gotterbarn’s strike ball was working quite well throughout the weekend as the Garden City, NY product cashed in on 46 of her 77 attempts (.597). After an 0-3 weekend start for the team, Gotterbarn and the Panthers kicked it into high gear. With the rookie bowler throwing no lower than a 209 game, Adelphi won three of its final four matches at the two-day competition. She closed out play on Sunday by rolling her weekend high game – a 258 in a win over Caldwell. One of only two AU bowlers to start all seven matches, Gotterbarn left only 10 opens in 70 frames bowled for an .857 filled frames percentage.
