Tyrell looks poised for a sophomore surge following a successful rookie campaign at Sacred Heart. The second-year Pioneer posted the highest individual average (215.9) of all bowlers at the Northeast Conference Fall Meet. Helping Sacred Heart record the highest overall pinfall of all eight NEC teams, Tyrell reached the 200-pin mark in five of seven traditional team matches. Executing her shots quite well in the leadoff position, Tyrell posted an .871 filled frames percentage over the course of the two-day meet, striking over 55 percent of the time and converting spares at an .850 rate. She started the weekend by throwing a clean 213 game in a victory over Caldwell. In a 225-pin showing in a win over Adelphi, Tyrell filled 9 of 10 frames and strung together five strikes in a row at one point. Her 277 high game, which was tops amongst all individuals at the competition, spearheaded Sacred Heart’s 1,110-pin performance in a triumph over St. Francis Brooklyn.
