WEEK 12 STATS: 13 total tackles (2 solo), 2.5 TFL
Hill spearheaded a SHU defensive effort that held No. 21 Bryant to its lowest point total of the season. Helping the Pioneers secure a 14-7 victory, their second over a top-25 opponent this season, and a return trip to the NCAA FCS playoffs, Hill was all over the field during Saturday’s first-place showdown. The senior safety made a game-high 13 tackles, including 2.5 stops for loss. Hill was sensational in the decisive fourth quarter, which opened with the score tied 7-7. He was in on five stops in the final period and made two of the hits for a loss. Hill’s last four tackles limited the opponent to gains of -1, 2, 1 and -4 yards during the fourth quarter. With Bryant near midfield midway through the quarter, Hill derailed the drive by dropping tailback Ricardo McCray four yards behind the line of scrimmage. SHU went on to score the game-winning touchdown on its ensuing possession.
