It may have gotten lost in the final score, but Robert Morris put forth a stalwart defensive effort in its Week 11 matchup with Wagner and Ferguson was a driving force behind the performance. Ferguson, a 6-foot-3 true freshman, made 10 stops as RMU limited its opponent to 10 first downs and 215 yards of total offense. Helping hold Wagner to 2.7 yards per rush attempt, the rookie linebacker made 3.0 tackles for a loss in the 20-0 setback. On the 10 plays that ended on a Ferguson tackle, Wagner netted a combined three yards. Six of the freshman’s stops were in the backfield or held the ball carrier to no gain.
