Hannon helped Fairleigh Dickinson defend its home turf at the season-opening Jersey Jamboree, which featured 13 of the top-15 teams from the preseason edition of the National Tenpins Coaches Association Top 20 Poll. Looking much like the NTCA All-American she was as a freshman, Hannon averaged 21.51 pins per frame to spearhead FDU’s first-place finish at the three-day competition. The second-year Knight left only 10 open frames during 14 matches, accounting for an astronomical .928 filled frames percentage. She struck on 52 percent of her chances, throwing 79 strikes in 159 attempts at the meet. Hannon was consistently effective throughout the baker and traditional play portions of the event schedule. She posted a team-high 215.4 traditional average over the course of 11 team matches. In three best-of-seven baker matches, Hannon accounted for a 21.4 frame average. She was a key factor in Fairleigh Dickinson’s two victories over defending NCAA champion Sam Houston State. Hannon threw a 235 game in an 1,121-943 traditional victory over the Bearkats on Saturday. She manned the No. 4 spot in the lineup for Sunday’s title tilt, setting up anchor bowler Liat Vizenfeld during FDU’s 4-to-2 best-of-7 baker win over SHSU.
