WEEK 9 STATS: 3 TDs responsible for (1 pass, 2 receiving), 3 receptions for 86 yds, 33 pass yds, 7 rush yds
Abeid, who gained yardage by passing, rushing and receiving on Saturday, put his big-play potential to use in what is arguably the most-significant victory in the Saint Francis’ FCS history. The running back-turned-receiver was responsible for his team’s first three touchdowns in a road win over No. 22 Sacred Heart, the program’s first-ever victory over a nationally-ranked opponent.  Staking Saint Francis to a 20-10 lead, the 5-foot-8 Abeid threw a touchdown pass and caught two more.  He finished with 86 yards on three receptions, 33 passing yards and seven rushing yards. Perfectly executing a gadget play on the Red Flash’s first snap from scrimmage, Abeid found quarterback Zach Drayer for a 33-yard touchdown toss that silenced the raucous record crowd on hand at SHU’s Campus Field. Abeid struck again late in the first half, catching an 11-yard scoring strike that gave the Red Flash a 14-10 lead heading into the break. He kicked off that scoring drive by making a 12-yard catch for a first down. Abeid opened the scoring in the second half, too. Slipping behind the defense, he found paydirt on a 63-yard pass play that bumped the Flash’s advantage to 20-10.
