WEEK 8 STATS: 4-for-4 FG (program record), 1-for-1 PAT, 6 kickoffs, 333 KO yds
Khaleghi’s kicking was a key component of Robert Morris’ first victory of the season. The senior from San Diego set a single-game program record by connecting on four field goals in the 27-24 come-from-behind victory over Central Connecticut. It was the first time a kicker converted four field goals in a conference contest since October 5, 2002 (Tim Redican, SHU). Khaleghi also converted his lone PAT attempt and helped neutralize Walter Payton Award candidate Rob Hollomon in the kickoff return game. His first field goal of the day, a 39-yarder, put RMU on the scoreboard in the closing seconds of the opening quarter. Khaleghi kicked a 42-yarder to give the Colonials a 6-3 lead 1:30 into the second quarter. With RMU facing a 24-6 second-half deficit, Khaleghi kicked off the Colonials’ comeback by booting a 32-yard three-pointer with 9:50 left in the third quarter. He brought Robert Morris within 24-19 when he connected from 22 yards out with 5:15 left in the game.
