Last week's NEC Player of the Week added to her season tally with 2 goals in wins over Mount St. Mary's and LIU Brooklyn. Hoekstra doubled FDU's lead over Mount St. Mary’s at the 30 minute mark with a tap-in from a Carly Tice (Highland Falls, NY/James I. O'Neill ) cross into the box. In a thrilling come from behind victory over the Blackbirds, Hoekstra connected for the game-winner on a corner and placed it in the right side of the net in the 89th minute. The two goals in the first weekend of NEC action brought the redshirt sophomore’s tally to 10 on the season, a new FDU program record. Previously, Hoekstra had scored nine during her 2012 Rookie of the Year, First Team All-Conference campaign. Hoekstra's goal against LIU on Sunday proved to be the game winner, the second of her season.
