Monahan's first career goal proved to be the game-winner as RMU snapped a seven-game winless skid with a 1-0 victory at Canisius Saturday. The rookie's eighth minute tally was unassisted as she intercepted a goal kick before beating the Griffs keeper. The kick was short and Monahan was able to collect the ball and deposit it in the back of net before the defense could recover. Monahan has started six of the eight games of her rookie season.
