Shegog made significant contributions to a defensive effort that held Dayton to 4.5 yards per pass attempt and under the 100-yard rushing mark. The rookie scored Duquesne’s first defensive touchdown of the season, returning a second-quarter interception 75 yards to bump the Dukes’ lead to 16-6. Shegog was also credited with one tackles and one pass break-up. The freshman defensive back broke up a pass on 1st-and-10 play, leading to a three-and-out for Dayton. He made his lone tackle of the game in run coverage, holding the ball carrier to a three-yard gain.
