Schlitter was far from unlucky in his 13th start of the season. Moving his record to a league-best 9-1, the senior spun his third shutout of the year on Friday in Smithfield. Going up against a Wagner team that was fighting for its postseason life, the veteran right-hander silenced the Seahawks for 7.0 innings. Other than a pair of singles by Jason Gordon, Schlitter was squeaky clean in the final regular season start of his storied career. He struck out seven batters and walked no one while facing only one batter over the minimum in the 4-0 win.
