LAST WEEK: 6 games, .381 BA (8-for-21), 5 RBI, 4 runs
Short was nothing short of sensational during Sacred Heart’s doubleheader sweep of first-place Bryant. The freshman shortstop went 7-for-9 with 4 RBI as the Pioneers joined ACC member Maryland as the only two teams to hand Bryant back-to-back losses this season. Short scored a total of four runs and drove in another five during the four-game set in Smithfield. The rookie logged three run-scoring singles in Game 3 of the series, a 10-3 SHU win. After going hitless in his first eight at-bats of the week, which included an 0-for-5 in mid-week games against Fairfield, Short closed the week with 8 hits in his last 13 at-bats.
