They needed two extra innings to do so, but Neumann and the Blue Devils posted a 2-1 victory over Wagner in a nine-inning game that was scheduled as a seven-frame affair. Out-dueling Wagner’s Matt Morris, a two-time NEC Pitcher of the Week, Neumann went the distance in the extra-inning win on Friday in New Britain. CCSU’s senior righty allowed only one earned run and scattered six hits over 9.0 frames of work. Neumann, who recorded the longest start of any NEC pitcher last week, did not issue a walk. The 6-foot-3 hurler has won three of his four conference starts this season.
