One of the most-decorated distance runners in NEC history, Castrogivanni clocked in with the conference’s top steeple chase time thus far this season. The two-time NEC Indoor MVP, who won conference crowns in the mile, 3K and 5K this past February, completed the 3,000m race in 10:40.18 at Princeton’s Larry Ellis Invitational. Castrogivanni’s time was more than 10 seconds better than the ECAC Championship qualifying standard and currently ranks her at No. 55 in the NCAA East Region. She was less than five seconds away from her personal best (10:35.47), which still stands as the NEC Outdoor Championships meet record.
