Albeit by the slimmest of margins, Armstrong captured the Northeast Conference lead in the triple jump. Competing in his home state, the South Jersey product won his signature event at Princeton’s Larry Ellis Invitational. Armstrong triple-jumped 14.89m (48’ 10.25”) to top the 16-entrant field and surpass the IC4A Championship qualifying mark by 39 centimeters. Robert Morris’ Richard Njenga (14.88m) also posted a seasonal best in the triple jump last week, but stands one centimeter behind Armstrong on the NEC leader board.
