Biekert recorded a top-tier distance time for the second week in a row. One week after producing the 31st-best 1500m time in NCAA Division I this season, Biekert jumped into the Top 20 national leaders in the steeple chase. The third-year Blue Devil crossed the line in 8:50.84 at Princeton’s Larry Ellis Invitational. The time is well below the qualifying standard for the IC4A Championships and it’s also better than the NEC Outdoor Championship meet record held by former Olympic Marathoner Brian Sell (SFU). Only 16 Division I runners have completed the steeple chase in less time this season.
