Schubert became the first Mount St. Mary’s pitcher in five years to solve Sacred Heart. Snapping the Mount’s 17-game losing streak against SHU, which dated back to 2009, the rookie right-hander posted a 2-1 road victory over the Pioneers in the first half of Friday’s double dip at Harbor Yard. Schubert spun 4.2 frames of winning baseball in what was the first start of his collegiate career. He allowed just three hits and was charged with one unearned run. The freshman, who managed to work around five walks, did not allow an extra-base hit.
