Walker-Khan won the NEC Indoor long jump title, and he has since put himself in position to make a run at the outdoor crown. The first-year Blackbird became the first NEC long jumper to eclipse the 7.00m mark this outdoor season. On his way to being the top NCAA finisher at the meet, Walker-Khan leapt 7.09m (23’ 3.25”) at the George Mason Spring Invite. The mark is one centimeter shy of the qualifying standard for the IC4A Championships, but it leads the NEC with 16 centimeters to spare.
