Quintana stepped up his play last week, posting a 2-1 record at #3 singles and 3-0 slate at #1 doubles along with Arvis Berzins. The native of Ecuador defeated Oliver Bellomi of local rival Saint Peter’s, 6-0, 6-2, on Wednesday and followed with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 win over the Mount’s Mateo DeSomocurcio over the weekend. Quintana then pushed Concordia’s Benas Majauskas to the limit in a 6-4, 6-4 setback on Monday. Majauskas is 15-1 on the year for the Clippers, who are ranked sixth in NCAA DII. With their three wins, Quintana and Berzins are now 7-3 in the year competing at the #1 doubles spot.
