Competing in the long jump for the first time since he won the NEC Indoor crown back in February, Lewis put forth his best effort in nearly one full calendar year. Lewis cleared 2.06m (6’ 9”) to post a top-8 finish amongst a talent-loaded field at the Florida Relays. The mark was his highest since the 2013 IC4A Outdoor Championship last May. Lewis is one of 82 Division I high jumpers who have cleared 2.06m this outdoor season. The Jamaican-born Blackbird currently ranks tied for 39th in the NCAA East Region, but will have some stiff competition for the NEC outdoor title. Wagner’s Matt Kane cleared 2.09m in March.
