Hunt showed record-breaking potential while contesting the 10,000m run at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, CA. The veteran harrier completed the race in 29:31.87 to immediately make himself the favorite to capture the NEC crown when the conference championships commence at Robert Morris University during the first weekend in May. Hunt produced the 44th-fastest time in NCAA Division I this season and currently ranks 17th overall on the East Region leader board as a result. The time, which is more than 1:30 under the IC4A Championship qualifying standard, is fractions of a second off the NEC Championship meet record (29:31.29) set by collegiate record holder Samuel Chelanga in 2007.
