Maertz's finish at the Hoya Invitational was stellar, as the sophomore finished 12th in a 90-person field that included Michigan, Penn, Seton Hall, St. John's, and Youngstown State. The conditions hindered any player from shooting under-par, and Maertz finished with a dual round 156. Maertz was also the low NEC player in the event.
