LAST WEEK: 1 Start, .500 BA (2-for-4), 2 runs, BB
It was a short sample with the Pioneers playing only one game last week, but Sacred Heart’s freshman shortstop made his presence felt. Contributing to a 10-2 win over Big East member St. John’s, Short reached base safely three times and scored two runs. He went 2-for-4 at the plate with a walk in the road win over the Red Storm. Short crossed home plate with the first run of the game after reaching base with a two-out walk in the third inning and scoring on an error. The rookie middle infielder leads Sacred Heart this season in batting average (.359) and on-base percentage (.461).
