Juhring opened the outdoor season by smashing her own program record in the javelin by more than 12 feet at the Wake Forest Open. The third-year Mountaineer, who took third at the 2013 NEC Outdoor Championships, made herself the early-season conference favorite with a second-place performance in a 43-entrant field at Wake Forest. Juhring’s 48.45m (158’ 11”) toss was second only to Wake’s Jessie Merckle. The mark currently stands as the nation’s 11th-best on the Division I performance list.
