Kerski continued his early-season dominance; this time he victimized against one of the Ivy League’s top lineups. The right-handed hurler silenced Cornell to set the tone for an eventual four-game series sweep for Sacred Heart. Kerski threw a 9-inning complete-game shutout against a team that had scored at least two runs or more in each of the season’s first 10 games. Looking everything like a No. 1 starter, he allowed only four hits and one walk while striking out nine over 9.0 innings of work. All four of Cornell’s hits were singles and the Big Red did not advance a runner past second base all game. On the way to lowering his ERA to a miniscule 0.33 mark, Kerski fanned five of the first six Cornell batters to face him. Kerski, who has won the NEC Pitcher of the Week honor twice this season, has allowed only one earned run over the first 27.1 innings of his senior year.
