Walp found himself tied with Santiago Mejia (Robert Morris) after 36 holes of play at even par (144), and walked to the par-4 18th hole for a sudden death battle to decide a victor. Walp put home a two putt from 35 feet out for the victory. The win marked the first ever individual win for the sophomore. He also helped Bryant to a third place team finish at the Lonnie Barton Invitational.
