Morris pitched Wagner into the win column with a stellar effort against Patriot League member Army at MCU Field in Brooklyn. Helping the Seahawks snap a season-opening six-game slide, the veteran lefty logged a career-high 7.1 innings of four-hit ball in a 2-1 victory. Morris kept Army off the scoreboard until the Black Knights pushed across an unearned run in the eighth inning. He struck out three batters while limiting Army to a .160 average. Morris appeared to become stronger as the game wore on. After surrendering a leadoff fourth-inning single, he held Army hitless until the eighth.
