Anderson was scoring on demand last week as Robert Morris clinched its second straight NEC regular season title and fifth in seven years with a pair of home wins. The Colonials, who have won six straight, will enter the NEC Tournament as the #1 seed and play all games in Moon Township should they keep advancing. Anderson averaged 28.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals while shooting 56.8 percent from the field, including 44.8 percent (8-18) from three-point range and 87.5 percent (7-8) from the line. The Elkhart, IN native scored all 26 of his points in the second half on Thursday, helping RMU dig its way out of a 16-point hole to post a 73-64 victory over LIU Brooklyn. Anderson put on a scintillating display for the Sewall Center faithful, hitting 8-10 from the floor, including 5-5 from beyond the arc in the final 20 minutes. He scored nine points in the last 1:10 to put the game away. Two days later, Anderson eclipsed the 30-point mark for the third time this season with 31 points in a 71-70 overtime win over St. Francis Brooklyn. His three-pointer early in the extra frame gave RMU a five-point edge. Anderson, a two-time Choice Hotels/NEC Player of the Week honoree this season, ranks second on the circuit with 19.4 ppg. He has set a new RMU record with 95 three-pointers, and leads the conference with 3.28 trifectas per game and a 46.8 percent success rate from beyond the arc. Anderson is on pace to become the first NEC player to shoot at least 50 percent from the field and 45 percent from long distance in 22 years.
