Mitchell heads into the 2014 NEC Indoor Championships on a high note. Having made a successful transition from the gridiron into the circle, the former defensive end owns to NEC’s top marks in both the shot put and weight throw. Mitchell added to his league-leading weight throw mark at this past weekend’s Penn State National Invitational. His 17.77m (58’ 3.75”) fling is 34 centimeters better than the previous seasonal best he set at the Penn State Relays on January 11.
