Mendelson contested the mile run for the first time as a collegian and the results moved her into second place on the NEC leader board. Competing at the BU Terrier Invitational, the first-year Blue Devil crossed the line in 5:00.63. Although her time is just shy of the ECAC Championship qualifying standard, it is more than 7.0 seconds better than the winning mark at the 2013 NEC Indoor Championships. Thus far this season, only Sacred Heart’s Brianna Castrogivanni has logged a faster mile time in the NEC.
