Saunders added to her NEC lead in the high jump with one of the top performances in NCAA Division I this season. The third-year Blue Devil, who set the NEC Outdoor Championship record as a rookie, cleared 1.78m (5' 10") on her final attempt to defeat UConn's Natasha McLaren and take gold at the UAlbany Great Dane Classic. The height ranks Saunders in a tie for 17th overall on the NCAA DI leader board. Only 29 jumpers have cleared the 1.75 mark this season, a height that Saunders reached at the BU Season Opener back on Dec. 7.
