Walker-Khan burst onto the scene last week with his league-leading long jump performance, and the British-born Blackbird did not stop there. Contesting the triple jump for the first time as a collegiate competitor, Walker-Khan surged out to the NEC lead in a second event. Riding high off his NEC Rookie of the Week selection, Walker-Khan registered a bound of 14.84m (48' 8.25") to claim bronze in the triple at the UAlbany Great Dane Classic, which was hosted at New York City's Armory Track & Field Center. Only Saint Peter’s Isaiah Harris and Cal State Northridge’s Derion Taylor performed better than the first-year Blackbird did that day. He's contested three competitions in the New Year and has two league-leading marks, one NEC Field Athlete of the Week award and two NEC Rookie of the Week honors to show for his outings.
