Nwajei added two more 20-plus point performances to her impressive rookie resume last week. The top freshman scorer in the NEC averaged 22.5 points per contest during Wagner’s road swing through Mount St. Mary’s and Robert Morris. Playing 78 of a possible 80 minutes, Nwajei also contributed 6.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per contest. She poured in a game-high 25 points and dished out seven assists in her first-ever appearance at The Mount’s Knott Arena. The Empire State product tallied 22 points, eight rebounds and five steals during a MLK Day matinee against first-place Robert Morris. Nwajei, who has reached the 20-point mark in four of the five NEC games she’s contested, moved up to seventh on the NEC’s overall scoring leader board (15.0 ppg).
