LAST WEEK: 27.5 ppg, 19.0 rpg, 7.5 apg, .607 FG pct.
Folks in Moon have become accustomed to eye-popping numbers from Spanou, and Robert Morris’ star forward produced more of the same last week. Powering the Colonials to back-to-back NEC victories, Spanou averaged 27.5 points, 19.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game and also secured the conference’s career double-doubles record. She shot 60.7 percent from the floor and cashed in on 21 of 24 (.875) free throw attempts. Spanou came within one assist of recording the NEC’s second triple-double of the season. The Greek-born forward tallied 25 points, 19 rebounds and nine assists in a win over Keystone State rival Saint Francis U. She made 8 of 11 field goal attempts and was a perfect 9-of-9 from the line during the 83-69 triumph. Two days later, she hit the 30-point mark for the second time this season. Recording her 24th straight double-double in conference play, Spanou posted 30 points, 19 rebounds and six assists. The 73rd double-double of her career pushed her past NEC Hall of Famer Jess Zinobile (72) for first on the league’s all-time list.
