Brown has pulled even with fellow FDU freshman Melanie Hannon in terms of NEC Rookie of the Week honors. Brown’s most-recent performance earned the New Jersey native her second NEC weekly award of the season. The first-year Knight helped Fairleigh Dickinson to the top of the Northeast Conference standings heading into the holiday break. Brown led all NEC rookies with a 21.61 overall frame average at last weekend’s conference meet in Wallingford, CT. A key contributor to FDU’s 6-2 record at the two-day competition, Brown filled 91.3 percent of frames bowled. She left only seven open frames over the course of eight matches and threw 50 strikes in 84 attempts (.595). She posted a 212.6 five-game traditional average and was even better during the three baker matches that FDU contested. Brown averaged 22.2 pins per baker frame. Brown was a catalyst in a traditional victory over meet host Sacred Heart. The leadoff bowler shot a 227 game against the rival Pioneers. Her 241-pin performance helped FDU take down defending NEC champion Adelphi in its final match of the weekend.
