Over the first eight games of his career, Martin has quickly established himself as a prime-time player for the Terriers. Having already come up big down the stretch in wins at Miami and Florida Atlantic, the two-time Choice Hotels/NEC Rookie of the Week again came to the rescue for St. Francis Brooklyn on the road Sunday, tipping in a Sheldon Hagigal miss with 1.5 seconds left to secure a 70-68 triumph over America East contender Stony Brook. Martin scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half, and finished 6-10 from the field to go along with three rebounds. The Brooklyn native also hit 7-8 shots as part of a 17-point, 9-rebound effort in SFBK’s 83-54 win over Mount St. Vincent on Wednesday. For the week, he averaged 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and shot 72.2 percent from the floor. Martin leads all NEC freshman in scoring (11.0), rebounding (5.9) and field goal percentage (.563).
