One of the smallest players on the court made the biggest impact in a landmark week for the FDU program.  Sanders Jr. averaged 21.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 2.7 steals in a 2-1 week for the Knights that included wins over Garden State rivals Rutgers and Seton Hall.  On Tuesday in an NIT Season Tipoff game at the RAC, the Charleston, NJ native finished with 22 points and 10 assists for his first career double-double as FDU shocked Rutgers, 73-72.  Sanders hit a pair of free throws with 1:19 to play to pull the Knights to within one point, then assisted on both Matt MacDonald’s go-ahead three-pointer with 26 seconds left on the clock and Mustafaa Jones layup with three seconds to go that iced the victory.  He put on a command performance against Seton Hall on Sunday, finishing with a near triple-double of 23 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists as FDU earned a 58-54 win over the Pirates.  Sanders dished to Mathias Seilund for a three-pointer that gave the Knights a 55-51 edge with 2:15 to play and hit a pair of free throws with 20 seconds on the clock to keep FDU ahead by three.  He then pulled down a huge offensive rebound off a missed free throw with five seconds to go and made the key shot from the charity stripe to keep it a two possession game.  For the year, Sanders is averaging 17.4 ppg (fifth in NEC), 5.6 apg (second) and 1.9 spg (second).
