Firestone’s performance was as crucial to Wagner’s Week 12 victory as anyone’s. The veteran punter accounted for the NEC’s highest single-game punting average (44.6) this season (minimum of 4 attempts) as the Seahawks prevailed in a defensive battle at Saint Francis during which field position was paramount. Firestone punted seven times for a total of 312 yards and also ripped off an 18-yard run on a perfectly-executed fake punt.  Firestone was sensational in the second half of the 10-7 victory, kicking five times for a 45.2 yards per punt average and twice pinning Saint Francis inside its own 20-yard line. Firestone kept Wagner’s first possession of the second half alive when he converted a fake punt on a 4th-and-3 play from the Seahawks’ 39. Later in the third quarter, he angled a 44-yard kick that went out of bounds at the SFU 6-yard line. His first punt of the fourth quarter was a 48-yard boot that pushed Saint Francis backed to its own 16.
