Brown’s collegiate tournament debut yielded impressive results. Helping Fairleigh Dickinson to a 10-3 record and a third-place team finish at the New Jersey Jamboree, Brown posted a 20.33 frame average over the course of the three-day meet. Brown’s average, which was primarily a product of her stellar .889 filled frames percentage, led all NEC rookies who contested the 19-team tournament. The South Jersey product was most-effective during Saturday’s traditional team matches. Her 212.7 game average was a key reason why FDU posted a 5-1 record during the meet’s traditional play portion. Brown’s 230-pin performance led the Knights in their victory over No. 4 Arkansas State. Apparently unfazed by the high quality of FDU’s opponents, Brown turned in a 247 game to help the Knights upend No. 8 Wisconsin-Whitewater. For the tournament, Brown threw 52 strikes in 115 attempts (.452) and converted 80.0 percent of her spares.
